The Role

At Protagonist, we’re building applications that will use modern architectures to reimagine the future of collaboration. As a Sr. Software Engineer (Frontend), you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web and mobile applications that will power our platform. As part of a small, collaborative team of engineers, designers, and product specialists, you will enable the next generation of purpose-driven users on Protagonist’s platform. 

Here’s What You’ll Do

• This role’s success depends on collaborating with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers
• Deliver products with a compelling user-experience 

• Build and contribute to the initial core code that will fuel our platform
• Build, Test, and Implement the features and user interfaces of Protagonist’s products
• Architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications
• Identify and drive changes as needed in the codebase, product area and/or system(s)
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues

Your Background

This isn’t about pattern matching or making sure every box is checked. This is about encouraging the right talent to inquire about this role.

• Domain expertise in computer science, engineering, or math.
• You’re comfortable being an asynchronous and autonomous contributor. 
• Experience building applications using web apps, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with agile software development life cycle.
• Experience using React, Node.js, TypeScript, Jest, and Enzyme, or demonstrated ability in learning similar tools.
• Significant experience with large scale, high-performance, reliable distributed systems. Real-time messaging a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and provide feedback via code reviews.
• Passionate about contributing to a project bigger than yourself. 
• Insatiable curiosity about our users, their aspirations, and how Protagonist can help.
